This post is brought to you by Lorissa’s Kitchen. Thank you for supporting the brands that sponsor Finding Beautiful Truth. Washington road trip . . . We traveled up to Washington to spend the holiday week with the Lybbert side of our family. It’s been a fun-filled few days, packed with family time, festive activities and…
Downtown Provo street tacos . . . If you’re not careful, you could easily miss this new-to-me joint. Brasas Mexican Grill is a few blocks south of Center Street, and it serves up the tastiest tacos. My brother introduced us the last time my parents were in town, and I can’t stop dreaming about this delicious spread. They serve…
SLC brunch scene . . . When it comes to baked goods and coffee shop scenes, Tulie Bakery in Salt Lake City’s 9th and 9th district is a favorite. They serve breakfast, lunch and have a display case full of homemade pastries, tiered cakes and everyday treats. There’s something for everyone.
Molly Moon ice cream . . . Have you ever tried honey lavender flavored ice cream? Until our recent trip to Molly Moon’s, I hadn’t either. Slightly sweet and surprisingly refreshing, it was one of the best desserts I’ve had in a really long time.
Homegrown . . . Last month, we celebrated Jake’s birthday in Seattle. It was a weekend packed with good food, good company and the best Seahawks home game we could have asked for. While in town, we had to make a stop at Homegrown. Their breakfast sandwiches are Jake’s favorite.
Division Road . . . Whenever we’re in Seattle, Jake likes to stop at some of his favorite menswear boutiques. We added Division Road, a new spot downtown, to our list this trip. It’s located just off 1st Avenue and stocks some of his favorite heritage brands.
Marination Ma Kai . . . We spent our weekend in Seattle, celebrating Jake’s birthday and sampling some of the city’s tastiest grub. The combination of street tacos and malted vinegar French fries may not feel like an obvious choice. I’ll admit I had my doubts. But, this kind of Hawaiian-Korean fusion definitely works.
Local market finds . . . I’m a sucker for a local market, and Urban Farm & Feed is no exception. This time of the year, it’s packed with Utah farm apples and locally sourced pumpkins. Plus, they fry up apple cider donuts every Friday. There really is no better way to celebrate fall.
