My new backpack . . .

Last summer in Sweden, I fell for Fjallraven backpacks. They began selling the iconic framed backpack in the 1960s. Since, it’s become a favorite accessory to both outdoor and fashion enthusiasts alike. The retro-inspired style is functional, durable and timeless–it’s the perfect bag for anyone on the go.

I’ve recently added the original sized backpack to my collection, and I wouldn’t mind eventually picking up a mini version for outings that require less necessities. Either way, pins and patches are the perfect way to add a bit of flare. All you need is a needle, thread, a few pins and a patch or two.

  1. Hi! I really love the patches and pins. Where can you buy those? Is it also possible to place them on t-shirts?

    1. Hi Shea! Unfortunately, it looks like the patches and pins are no longer available on Fjallraven’s site. My best advice would be to search for them on eBay. And yes, I think they’d look great on a shirt or a denim jacket!

  2. Hey! Did you iron the patch on or did you have to sew it on? I really want to add a few to my Kanken but not sure if it’s good for the fabric to iron the patches on. Thank you 🙂

    1. Hi Lisa! I sewed my patches on–fortunately, it didn’t take too long. Best of luck with your DIY!

  3. Hey is it possible to iron on a patch to a kanken bag or is it best to sew one on??

    1. Hi! Great question–I think it depends on the type of patch you have. Some patches are sew on only, and others have the special iron-on adhesive on the back of them. Those can definitely be applied with an iron.
