Curling wand tips . . .
Here are a few things you should know from my trial and error.
Protect yourself.
I always wear the heat protectant glove and a long sleeve robe when I’m using my wand. It’s very easy to get distracted and accidentally touch the hot metal your inner arm, burn your fingers or sear your shoulders. Better safe than sorry–the scars aren’t too pretty.
Protect your hair.
Like you protect your skin, you definitely want to protect your hair. Heat damage is the real deal and can take years to correct. I like to apply Aveda’s damage control spray to my towel dried hair before using any hot tools. It protects against direct heat and reduces breakage from combing. I also like to use it during the summer before heading outside. UV rays can be just as harmful to your hair, especially when you’re spending hours poolside.
Curl away from your face.
I do this by diving my hair at the part and pinning the top section up and away on each side of my head. Then, I curl the bottom section of my hair, beginning with 2″ pieces at the back and working my way around to the front. Once the bottom of one side is completely curled, I push it to my back and let it rest behind my shoulder. Next, I unpin the top portion and start curling 2″ pieces from the back to the front. You’ll do this on both sides until your whole head is curled.
Start your primping early in the day.
I’m a fan of messier, undone waves so I start my beauty routine hours in advance. It’s the perfect excuse to primp + multitask throughout the day. To start, I like to apply VII code’s eye mask. The gel-like texture on the mask is made from all natural, plant based ingredients and stays in place as I do my hair or move from one thing to the next. Curls look so much cuter with bright, well-rested eyes.

I love both a spiral curler and a straightener.
my 2-1/2 inch flat iron, I have a lot of wavy hair and I straighten a lot more than I curl, so this tool gets the most use and it works so fast and straightens a large section of hair in one pass and really cut my styling time a lot.
I normally don’t use hair tools, but this looks so easy, I’d love to give it a try!

my favorite hair care product is an amazing leave in conditioner (that works more as a light weight gel for me) from Bed Head- (it’s in a hot pink container with a green pump- I am blanking on it’s name)—- and my favorite tool, currently, is my amazing round brush for blowdrying straight —- my other ‘almost’ favorite tool is my kiss instawave. But I have been wanting an actual curling want. I ending up buying one but it the thickness was not nearly what I needed and I ended up with tight very small curls- like Annie lol. I need a thick diameter ==== so besides my very small curling wand experience and my kiss instawave- I do not have a curling wand. I would really love to use a curling want over the instawave because the instawave is kind of a pain to use. I have watched so many curling wand tutorials, etc. on youtube and I feel like I could get the perfect curl style that I am looking for if I had the right curling wand! ty for the chance 🙂 I would love to have hair like yours!
