On mornings when you need some extra time to snooze, it’s nice to have a few five-minute styles in your arsenal. Things like decorative bobby pins, salty surf spray and a bit of TLC make getting ready a cinch. Need some motivation? I’ve rounded up a bit of inspiration.
Double Pin to Side
It’s time to banish those boring bobby pins. These geometric shapes and feminine florals are currently trending, and I love the visual element they instantly add to your look. Think of it like jewelry for your hair.
Second Day Curls
Don’t have any accessories on hand? Embrace the bedhead and play up those second day curls. It’s nothing a little Surf Spray can’t fix. After a light spritz, gently scrunch and twirl strands of your hair to add volume and body.
The Dressed Up Ponytail
These dressed up ponytails are ready for anything–a day full of errands, a night on the town or a casual weekend brunch. By covering your elastic, the style feels far more pulled together, and it instantly elevates your outfit from a 2 to a 10.
Sleek Low Bun
It’s polished, professional and out of your face. This sleek low bun is perfect for a day at the office or meetings downtown. I like to apply a dime sized amount of smoothing serum to my hair before securing it in a bun. It helps to tame those pesky baby hairs.
Side Swept Barrette
Like the double bobby pin, this style takes minimal effort. Plus, it’s great for pinning back layers around your face or unruly bangs. I’m a big van of metallic shapes and classics in tortoise. I think they’ll be great accessories for fall.
Accordion Head Band
Thankfully, there’s no skill involved in adding a headband. I especially like this accordion style because it gives lift at your crown and neatly pulls back the hair around your face. No matter the occasion, you’ll be ready in no time.
